Land Rover Darien is nestled in the historical town of Darien on Connecticut's "Gold Coast" amongst the most affluent towns in the US. Our dealership began life as Miller Ford in April 1956. Our original location was 1120 Post Road directly at the base of the southbound Exit 11 ramp. In 1972, we constructed a new facility at 1335 Post Road for our growing business, now the current location of our Nissan Darien franchise.
Range Rover was added to the Darien Automotive Group in 1987. As a member of the exclusive original Charter 11 Range Rover dealers appointed in the country, we were the very first Range Rover dealer appointed in the US, Dealer Number 101. Originally, Range Rover was located with our other franchises at 1335 Post Road. By 1996, Land Rover was adding new models to the brand and we were outgrowing the shared space at 1335 Post Road. It was time for Land Rover to go it alone; we constructed a brand new exclusive Land Rover Centre and moved in December of 1996. Michael Ellor, one of our more experienced employees, was selected as Centre Manager, responsible for the entire day to day operation. Michael continues in this position today.
