The Range Rover Velar and the Range Rover Evoque are close siblings in the 2026 lineup, but they are excitingly unique. The Range Rover Evoque is a two-row, compact crossover SUV with advantages like a lower price and enhanced fuel economy. The Range Rover Velar is a midsize SUV that provides more towing power, several powertrain options and more cabin space. What are the other notable differences between these models?
Performance
The 2026 Range Rover Evoque is well-equipped with a four-cylinder, 2.0-liter turbocharged engine. This system delivers 249 horsepower with 269 pound-feet of torque. A nine-speed auto transmission as well as all-wheel drive accompany the powertrain.
In comparison, the Range Rover Velar is available with both a gas system and a mild-hybrid system. The gas powertrain is identical to the engine in the Range Rover Evoque. The mild-hybrid inline-six engine produces 394 horsepower and 406 pound-feet of torque. It also features all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Appearance
The Range Rover Evoque has a small stature with a decidedly confident, sporty design. While the hood makes a linear descent toward the raked rear, the side contours and definition run at an upward angle. The fenders are prominently mounted, and an expansive air inlet runs underneath the side mirrors. The nose is designed with a slender, rectangular grille that connects to narrow headlights with an LED accent bar.
The Range Rover Velar is a larger model with smooth contouring on the sides and angled, dark molding supporting the door panels. The roof is slightly arched. At the front, the grille has a similar shape as the Range Rover Evoque’s grille, but it is larger. The headlights are also similarly designed.
Features
The Range Rover Evoque is smartly outfitted with features like a blind-spot monitor, auto emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, a blind-spot monitoring system, heated seats, a surround-view camera, an air purifier, a Meridian sound system with 12 speakers, an 11.4-inch touch display screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic glass roof and others.
The Range Rover Velar has many of these features. It also comes with a wireless charging pad, a four-zone climate control system, automated parking assistance, a heated windshield, massaging front seats and a few additional features.
